Mohammad A. Malek, Ph.D., P.E., is an internationally recognized expert in boiler and pressure vessel technology. He is a professional engineer registered in both the United States and Canada. He has more than 30 years of experience in design, construction, installation, operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of boilers and pressure vessels. He has published numerous technical articles and authored chapters in a few books. Dr. Malek is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Safety Engineers, Association of Energy Engineers, Association for Facilities Engineers, National Association of Power Engineers, Florida Engineering Society, and Society of Operations Engineers, U.K. He is a speaker for ASME Code Section I—Power Boilers. Currently he is chief boiler inspector for the State of Florida. Dr. Malek is an adjunct professor at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, Tallahassee, Florida. He has previously authored the following books: Power Boiler Design, Inspection, and Repair (2005) and Pressure Relief Devices (2006), both from McGraw-Hill.
