Joli Ballew is an award-winning, best-selling author of 40+ computer books. Joli has been working with computers, gadgets, and all things media since her freshman year in college in 1982, where she majored in computer science, then systems analysis, and finally mathematics. Ultimately, she earned her degree in the latter. Joli has written several books related to phones and mobile technologies, including the extremely popular How to Do Everything: iPad 2 (McGraw-Hill, 2011) and How to Do Everything: BlackBerry Storm 2 (McGraw-Hill, 2010). Joli also teaches computer classes at various colleges in the Dallas area and is the Microsoft IT Academy Coordinator at Brookhaven Community College in Farmers Branch, Texas.
Beyond writing books and teaching classes, Joli is a Microsoft MVP (five years running) and holds multiple Microsoft certifications, including Microsoft Certified Trainer. She studies new technologies regularly, and attends both the Consumer Electronics Show and the Microsoft MVP Summit every year. In her spare time, Joli exercises at the local gym, works outside tending to her lawn, and serves as the butler for her two cats, Pico and Lucy, and their pet gerbil, George.
