JAE K. SHIM is currently Professor of Accountancy and Finance at California State University at Long Beach. He received his M.B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley (Haas School of Business). Professor Shim has published numerous articles in various accounting and business journals and is a coauthor of Schaum's Outlines of Managerial Accounting, Second Edition; Financial Management, Second Edition; and Personal Finance. Dr. Shim has over 50 books to his credit, including Accounting Handbook, Dictionary of Accounting Terms, and The Vest-Pocket CPA. Professor Shim is a recipient of the 1982 Credit Research Foundation Award for his article.

JOEL G. SIEGEL is Professor of Accounting and Information Systems at Queens College of the City University of New York. He received his Ph.D. in accounting from Bernard M. Baruch College and is a CPA. In 1972, Dr. Siegel received the Outstanding Educator of America Award. He has written on numerous finance topics in professional journals, including The Financial Executive and The Financial Analyst Journal. Dr. Siegel is the author of How to Analyze Businesses, Financial Statements and Quality of Earnings and is a coauthor of Schaum's Outlines of Managerial Accounting, Second Edition; Financial Management, Second Edition; and Personal Finance.
