GEORGE H. FRIED is Professor of Biology at Brooklyn College, where he also received his A.B. degree. He holds both the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Over a thirty-year career, he has taught general biology and animal physiology and developed a course on Biology and Society.

GEORGE J. HADEMENOS has taught at the University of Dallas and done research at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and the University of California at Los Angeles. He holds a B.S. from Angelo State University and both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Texas at Dallas. He is the author of several books in the Schaum's Outline series.

KATHERINE E. CULLEN teaches Biology at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, and is a teacher trainer for Kaplan Educational Services. She received a B.S. from the Michigan State University and a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University. She has published several articles and presented professional papers.
