Annette Thau received a B.A. from Douglass College and a Ph.D. from Columbia University. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and was the recipient of numerous academic honors and fellowships, including a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship; University Fellowships from Columbia University; and a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship for Younger Humanists.
Annette Thau has had several different careers. After teaching both at the high school and college level, she worked as a municipal bond analyst at the Chase Manhattan Bank. She has also been appointed as a visiting scholar at the Graduate School of Business of Columbia University.
Annette Thau's first book was a study of the poetry of Max Jacob, a French poet who was a friend of Picasso and the poet Apollinaire. The Bond Book was written in order to fill a need for a book that would explain bonds and the bond market in clear language that could be understood by any individual investor. Sales of the book suggest that it met that need. This second edition was written in order to bring The Bond Book up to date.
