Alvin S. Goodman, Ph.D., P.E., F.ASCE, is Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering at Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, New York. He is a Certified Professional Hydrologist with extensive academic and professional experience in water resources and hydraulic engineering in the United States and throughout the world. His research experience includes project analysis, water resources planning, water quality management, hydrology, environmental systems analysis, energy related problems, and education. Dr. Goodman has authored or co-authored 75 books, technical articles, and research reports, including more than 40 refereed publications.
Makarand Hastak, Ph.D., C.C.E., is an associate professor in the School of Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, and management at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Dr. Hastak is a Certified Cost Engineer with extensive experience in conducting research, teaching, and assisting the construction industry in the areas of project management, project controls, management decision-making, risk analysis, and infrastructure management. He is a member of the Construction Research Council of the American Society of Civil Engineers and serves on the Education Board of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering.
